What is tea?
Tea is the processed product from the leaves and young buds of tea plant. It is the second most popular drinking substance which has been established its position after the life called water from the ancient time. As a beverage crop or product, it is also popular. The popularity of tea has been extended more or less all the part of the world and obtained its position in human soul. The people of different countries as well as different region may call it in different names like- Tea, Cha, Chai, Chaye, Thea and so like this; but the original taste and wonderfulness of this drinks is same all time. The day long tiredness of a man may be exhausted only after taking a cup of tea. Not only this, but also the tea leaves contain different vitamins like C, D, K, B12 etc with its main content i.e. Caffeine. So, there will not be any fault if anybody called it as health friendly drink.
Tea: A bit of history
However, the different benefits of the tea have not come into human practice very easily. Like others, it has also a strong historical background. The tea was first discovered in China in about 2737 B.C. by the then emperor when a leaf of tea was dropped in his stored hot water. The history writing of tea was begun from that time. The discovery of tea is really funny. After that the Chinese started the tea culture commercially. By the time the tea had become most popular among the general dwellers. With times, the popularity of tea had been extended all over the world. The first cultivated tea variety was Camellia sinensis.

Now-a-days, no morning of the modern life can be considered without a cup of tea though some cases it is replaced by coffee.

However, the tea plant is evergreen plant and grown well in tropical and subtropical areas. It needs somewhat acidic soil and well distributed rainfall but unable to withstand watery condition. For obtaining tea powder the young buds with two young leaves are harvested. After maintaining proper processing steps, the tea powder is marketed. Presently, commercially three types of tea are cultivated like China variety, Indo–china variety and Assam variety though there are numerous varieties of tea are available in the world. Different types of tea as a drinking liquid are prepared from the same plant e.g. white tea, green tea, oolong tea, black tea and so on. In all cases the active ingredients are same but the expression i.e. presentation is different. People take the tea for refreshment, generally. But the tea has many other benevolent sites like-
i. Helpful for cancer diseases.
ii. Helpful for maintaining normal blood pressure.
iii. Helpful for diabetes.
iv. Helps to prevent coronary heart diseases.
v. Benevolent for dental caries.
vi. Overall, it increases the spirit of working hour.
At last but not least it can be said that the tea is very nearest part of our modern life. Recently, it has been observed that special oil is prepared from the tea plant which is helpful for germ and fungus elimination. As the taking of tea is getting popularity among the modern people, a strong competition is going on among the tea growing countries to occupy the top most position of the world tea market for getting foreign currency.
